Fashion Tips for The Busy (Or Lazy) Woman

There’s no doubt that we all want to look our best when we leave the house. We all seem to have a mental image of waking up from a peaceful sleep to soft sunshine on our face and the chirping of birds announcing a wonderful day ahead. Unfortunately, that’s not what each morning looks like for most.
In my case, it always seems like I could use more sleep, I always aim to simplify my morning routine in order to get a few more minutes of shut-eye. Be it because you are like me or because you have so many other things to do, here are some tips to make your life easier.

Choose the Right Fabric

It’s easy to overlook what fabric the item you want to buy is made of unless it is visibly unattractive or feels rough against the skin when you try it on. However, spending some time on thinking about it in stores can save you a lot more time in the long run.
Opt for wrinkle-free fabrics such as cotton, denim, polyester or most knit fabrics to use ironing time to do other things. Additionally, some clothes specifically say “wrinkle-free” on the tags, so look out for those. On the other hand, beware of fabrics that attract lint like crazy.
Trust me, I speak from experience. I own a pair of navy cotton-polyester blend pants and I have to use a lint roller every single time I wear them (and sometimes in the middle of the day too). Avoid synthetic fabrics to keep the lint away.

Use Clip Buttons

Doing up buttons can be extremely stressful when you’re in a rush, or if you’re simply impatient. For that reason, I opt for clip buttons on shirts and blouses with button-up fronts that I know will take me a long time and leave conventional buttons for when there are only one or two.
Plus, don’t you get a bit of satisfaction from clipping and unclipping them?

Go for Circle Scarves

Scarves are a great way to add a chic touch to any outfit, but placing it is one of the things I spend most time on. Perhaps not all at once, but every time I cross a mirror while I’m getting ready, I can’t resist the urge to tug and pull at it in order to achieve the perfect positioning.
Circle (or infinity) scarves pretty much do the work for you. They don’t provide as many styling options as regular scarves, but a lot less arranging (if any) is needed once it’s on.

Keep a Pouch with Important Items

A small pouch, such as a makeup one, will make it easy to transport your most essential items
from one bag to another when you’re in a rush. No more frantically looking through all the pockets of your purse or dreading forgetting anything important! Life. Saver.
